Strange Breed...

How do I describe Strange Breed? Well, it's like Garry Larson's Far Side. I think Steve Langille actually is a better drawing talent than Garry Larson. The subjects range from family to the office to church, even. I love one panel strips when the joke's good and it makes me chuckle and Steve offers that with Strange Breed.

Steve was gracious enough to allow me to place one of his comics here on the site. Make sure you check out his work, it is really funny. So, if you like that one, he's got lots more -- make sure you take the time to check him out!

Adventure Quest

Adventure Quest is an online RPG game. There are two modes of play -- free and guardian. If you become a guardian more areas of the game are open to you and you can play different quests. I've played as both, but I wanted to see just what I could see, so I upgraded my character to guardian.

The whole game has been designed in Flash, so you don't need to download anything and can play from any Internet accessible PC. The game is constantly changing. On a weekly basis, they add new quests, new weapons and new monsters to battle. There isn't much in the way of a storyline, or it might just be that I don't read the intro to any of the quests.

If you like RPG and you have some time to play, I recommend Adventure Quest.
These are screenshots from my game play.

Kevin and Kell

I can't believe it took me this long to review Kevin and Kell. This is the webcomic that started me on my web search for great comics. Bill Holbrook is very talented -- He, also, draws Fast Track.

Anyway, the background on Kevin & Kell is Kevin Kindle -- a rabbit -- meets Kell Dewclaw -- a wolf -- in a chat room. The two of them fall in love without ever meeting. Once they do meet, they discover there major difference -- after all, Kell is a carnivore and Kevin, well, is food. :-) Kevin has an adopted daughter, Lindesfarne, who is a hedgehog. Kell has a son, Rudy. Together, they produced Coney, who looks rabbit, but hunts like a wolf.

Now, if none of this seems like your cup of tea, give it a try. Most of Bill's storylines have a "human" side to them. In other words, take away the fur and you'll forget you're watching animals.

Catch yourself up on all the stories by reading the archive. The webcomic is pretty self-explanatory, but it's fun to read just how far it has come.

Bill was kind enough to allow me to post one of the comics here. He said I could pick my favorite, like that could possibly happen! I have too many favorites from which to choose!
I know this picture is small, but I hope you can still make it out.

Karaoke Revolution CMT

So, I purchased this game, but I'm not overly thrilled with it. First, there are only 35 songs -- not enough for a Country fan such as myself. Second, I'm not impressed with the characters. Further, they royally screwed up the duet version of "Does He Love You." I would expect that a game that includes Country Music Television (CMT) would know that the second verse is started by a different singer. Didn't they ever listen to the song? Who programmed this?

My advice -- skip this Karaoke game and buy one of the others.

Moegopher's Blog

So, I posted about Ctrl-Alt-Del and a nice guy posted a comment regarding my review. Anyway, I thought I'd check out his blog. It's pretty cool. It just started last month, but he has comic and video game reviews, like mine, so I think it's worth taking the time to check out.

So, what are you waiting for, go check it out: http://moegopher.blogspot.com/.

Dueling Analogs

Well, this bites -- not the comic -- but Blogger. I had written a nice review about Dueling Analogs. It really cracks me up. Yes, it's another video game webcomic, but it has a very interesting twist to it.

So, something went wrong when I saved the draft to blogger and now the review is gone. Suffice it to say that if you haven't read this comic prior to reading this review -- stop reading this review and check it out -- you'll like it.

Dog Eat Doug

This review is way over do, I've mentioned this comic once before, so for my fans who were eagerly awaiting the review -- here it is:

If you like labs and you like babies (and, who doesn't), you'll love this comic. It is so totally true to life. Since my daughter has two labs to go with her twin boys, I see this comic in double everytime I visit her! Anyway, the comic stars Doug -- the baby -- and Sophie -- the lab. It shows their daily adventures in a very charming and humorous way.

The daily comic itself is in black and white, with exceptions of Sundays. The artist posts every so often about newspapers that are considering the comic, so if you read any of those newspapers, by all means help the guy out.

Normally, I would've asked permission to use the following strip, but I'm in a hurry today and being lazy, so Brian, if you want me to remove it, just say so and I will:

Ctrl-Alt-Del

Okay, I've been putting off reviewing Ctrl-Alt-Del since I started this blog. Not because I didn't like it, but because I figured that the guy who wrote it received enough accolades and enough traffic. The site is nicely done -- very professional -- and the comic is well written and drawn, but here's why I'm reviewing it...

The artist can't be a day over 25 and I don't think he's much over 21 to tell you the truth. The archive of strips goes back to October of 2002, that means that this kid has been drawing this comic for nearly four years, so he must've started when he was eight or something.

Look, I'm sure that most of my readers will have all ready known about this strip and are probably thinking I'm a goof for even mentioning it. But, once I realized how young Tim Buckley is, I had to mention it. I think it's cool -- and, since I'm staring 40 in the face and all I have to show for my life is this blog, -- I'm a jealous of this guy's talent.

I joined CAD Premium and at first I wasn't overly impressed, but I'm getting there. The kid is just a webcomic genius. So, if you never checked out his strip, give it a shot!

Blessings!
